Brief description

Radioisotopic density sensor of sheet materials A361 CAN (LEB-1) is designed for use in automated quality control system "A-3000" for the continuous and non-contact technological control paper web density or other sheet materials.

Application range — paper web density continuous monitoring for the papermaking and other sheet materials process control.

  • The operation principle is based on measuring the attenuation of energy flow ß-particles which is passing through the under investigation fabric. As a source of ß-particles is used isotope Kr 85.

    The construction of the density sensor provides the compensation changes of air density in the air gap of measuring device that occurs when the ambient temperature and atmospheric pressure is changing. If air density changes the correction is introduced when calculating the paper weight.

    Special construction of the sensor's input window minimizes the effect of the ash content of paper web, and the location of the paper web in the measuring gap, on the sensor's readings, by reducing the impact of the effects of electron scattering.

    The continuous monitoring of impermeability is performed, for safety reasons.

    All devices of density sensor are resistant to dust (protection rating IP54, GOST 14254-96).

    Level of industrial radio interference at communication ports of the density sensor does not exceed the standards specified by GOST R 51318.22 for technical means of class A in the range up to 1 GHz.

    The density sensor is resistant to the external magnetic field strength not more than 400 A/m.
