Brief description

Infrared moisture and density sensor of paper web "A 327 CAN» is used for continuous and non-contact measuring of moisture and density of paper as a part of the automated quality control system "A-3000" and is implemented using optical schemes used in the device "A 327".
Sensor "A 327 CAN" can also be used to modernize quality control systems of other manufacturers.

  • Infrared moisture meter is used for measuring moisture and density of paper and cardboard web, measuring range of paper density is fr om 6 up to 350 g/m2.

    The work of sensor is based on an infrared spectral measurement method. The transmission of paper web in the working wavelength (absorption line of water and pulp) compared with transmission at a reference wavelength, wh ere almost no absorption of infrared radiation by water and cellulose. Moisture and density of the material is calculated according to the obtained ratios. These calculations are made using specialized algorithm based on a theoretical model.

    The paper web moisture and density sensor consists of two parts: the transmitter and the receiver, which are mounted on the "A-3000" scanning device. These data are transmitted to the quality control system's workstation using communication protocol «CANOpen».

    Sensor "A327 CAN" within the operating temperature range is insensitive to changes in ambient temperature and can be integrated into any quality control system, subject to the installation of necessary communication protocol.

    The infrared moisture meter's optical circuit can be realized in three versions, according to the ranges listed below. Calibration and readings control carried out with the help of material that was measured by thermogravimetric method using GOST's.
