  • DESIGN AND OPERATION OF GRAIN FLOW SENSOR AND ITS PARTS

    The principle of operation of the grain flow sensor based on the measurement, using tensometrical converter, the pressure of grain flow on the vane. The strength of this pressure is proportional to the number of grains passing through the sensor.

    Functionally, the grain flow sensor consists of a measuring mine with installed in it working and guide vane, and block of electronics.

    Rotor vane attached to the tensometrical sensor. Guide vane is set to eliminate the influence of the kinetic pressure component of grain that drops from a height. The signal from the tensometrical sensor is transferred to an electronic unit via a cable connection. Through this cable the power to the tensometrical sensor is supplied. The signal from the tensometrical sensor, after amplifying in the measuring amplifier, is transmitted to the ADC, that is in the microprocessor. Microprocessor is measuring the signal from the tensometrical sensor and by the results of measurements, the grain flow is calculated . To eliminate the effect of temperature on the tensometrical sensor's measurement accuracy, the temperature is controled and the amendment is added to the result of the calculation. The calculated value of the grain flow stored in the microprocessor memory and can be read by the command from controller of dampening system. For this measuring is equipped with a digital RS232 communication port and galvanically isolated RS485 communication port.
